I use a multisensory, explicit, systematic, diagnostic and prescriptive instructional approach to ensure that students build their skills in each of the components of literacy:
- Phonemic awareness
- Sound-symbol association
- Syllable instruction
- Decoding (word reading)
- Encoding (spelling)
- Morphology (prefixes, suffixes, bases and roots)
- Syntax (sentence structure)
- Semantics (word meaning)
Dyslexia intervention sessions are typically 45 minutes. For students who are receiving literacy intervention at school, school holiday sessions at the RWSP clinic may be arranged.
